Project Description
Community engagement
How to reduce risk of cancer.
The importance of attending screening.
How to identify signs and symptoms.
The support available to people affected by cancer.
Some of our community engagement activities include:
● Running information desks at various venues (e.g. GP surgeries and libraries) and events (e.g. borough health awareness days)
● Giving presentations to groups of people in the local community (e.g. rotary, faith groups, schools)
● Giving presentations to service and support providers (e.g. health care providers, social care providers and charities) to allow them to signpost clients to The Mulberry Centre for support.
If you know of any groups or venues who might benefit from one of our community engagement activities, please contact The Mulberry Centre on 020 8321 6300 or email: talk@themulberrycentre.co.uk
Cancer awareness month
April’s Bowel Cancer Awareness Month
Bowel Cancer is the second biggest UK’s killer cancer. This shouldn’t be the case since it is treatable and curable, especially when diagnosed at an early stage. Early diagnosis for Bowel Cancer and any other type of cancer saves lives. Find out more here.

User Engagement
The User Engagement Group was set up to start a conversation with the people who use our service, to find out what their experience of the Mulberry Centre is, to flag up future initiatives and listen to any concerns they may have or anticipate. The group meets quarterly and completes a questionnaire beforehand before using the meeting to give their own experiences of visiting the Mulberry Centre.
To join our next User Engagement Group in June 2021, please call us on 020 8321 6300 or email: talk@themulberrycentre.co.uk
