Getting up and down Course
All abilities welcome!
Do you feel unsteady when getting up and down from the floor? Perhaps you aren’t sure how to do so safely or are worried about getting back up once you are on the floor.
Getting up and down from the floor is an important skill, we need to know how to get back up in case we trip or stumble and find ourselves inadvertently on the floor.
You want to feel supple enough to get down onto a yoga mat, reach a plug or get down to do some gardening, and then strong enough to get back up safely.
Throughout this course we will learn what we can do to make this movement easier and become more confident. There are things we need to do on the floor, many of which bring us pleasure and joy, such as gardening, getting down on a yoga mat for gentle exercise, also many household chores also involve getting down to or picking things up from the floor. It may be frustrating not to feel confident doing all these everyday activities.
As part of our Gaining Strength and Balance Programme, this course will guide, help you practise and develop your confidence to get down on the floor and get up again safely.
