Creative Writing

The power of words can take you wherever you want.
Creative writing can be a way of remembering  precious memories, it can be a way of recording the beauty of the world, or it can be a marvellous means of escape.
These sessions will be an opportunity to explore all kinds of ways of using the written word.
We’ll share inspiring readings, talk about what we are interested in as writers, and do writing exercises that we share  as the course  progresses, in addition to poetry, short stories, and journaling… all kinds of writing will be covered.
The point of writing is to enjoy the pleasure of words, and the power of our imaginations.  You don’t need to be a perfect writer or have any kind of qualification to come along.  We’ll have a happy, supportive, non-judgemental, creative time where we see what happens when we start thinking about what we want to do with words.
These  sessions will be run by Tim Atkins. Tim’s books of poetry, non fiction, and short stories have been published in the USA, Canada, France and the UK.  He’s had a Times Literary Supplement book of the year and been an award-winning teacher of creative writing in UK universities for the last twenty years.  He currently works at the University of Roehampton.
Please be ready to write with a notepad.
Monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
