Carers’ Support Group
If you look after someone with cancer, you may not think of yourself as a Carer. You may say “I’m just being their husband, partner, daughter or friend” yet the support you provide is vital.
We understand that being a Carer means you often put others first and find it hard to prioritise your needs. However, it is vital for Carers to look after themselves so they can continue to support the patient. At the Mulberry Centre, we provide a range of emotional and practical support to those in a Carer’s role.
This group offers opportunities to exchange experiences and views with other people who may be in a similar situation. In this way, members can receive and offer support within a mutually supportive environment.
The group is led by its members and they may talk about whatever is relevant at that time. The group runs on a two-weekly basis with the support of a group counselling facilitator.
