Aged 65 or over?

Has the lockdown left you feeling lonely or socially isolated and could you benefit from having someone new to chat to? Maybe you live alone, or maybe you live with a partner or family but it would still be nice to talk to someone new.

We recognise that people have had less opportunity to meet socially and our face to face activities have been reduced due to the pandemic but we are still here to help you feel connected.

We are delighted to be offering a check in and chat Telephone Befriending Service to existing and new clients over 65 affected by cancer and/or Covid19.

Our friendly, sociable Telephone Befriending Volunteers are here to make regular calls to clients over a time-limited period.  They are great listeners and clients will have the opportunity to chat socially about how they are feeling, their hobbies and interests, as well as learning about the various services, wellbeing classes, support groups and activities we can offer remotely.  There is also the opportunity to join in the sociable weekly online get together, especially for befriended clients, where clients can chat or play a quiz or bingo.
